I love chickens, they are fun but they are a a sort of lot of work.
I had a bunch of them killed several times by predators so keepingt hems afe is important. The more they can free range those, the less shit you have to shovel (pardon my language). Also healthier eggs to eat when they free range, if there aren't too many predators. You can sell eggs or trade them. Case they make more than you can eat--one egg a day--and they are so pretty and fun to watch.
