Alzheimer's

Alzheimer's is a common and serious brain disease. The first noticeable symptoms of Alzheimer's are: loss of memory, trouble performing tasks, poor judgement, misplacing things, inability to think and understand and gradual changes in behaviour.

I feel very strongly about this because I have known so many people that have had to go through this with a loved one. Its very very sad to see this happen to people. I cannot imagine someday my mother not knowing who I am! But it DOES happen and OFTEN...

The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research. Held annually in hundreds of communities across the country, this inspiring event calls on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer's. Since 1989, Memory Walk has raised more than $225 million. Team captains are needed NOW! Team Captains need to sign up early to ensure they have enough time to recruit a team and raise funds for the cause!

The Alzheimer's Memory Walk is nationwide(they even have one in my area, I checked!).. So you CAN sign up! Please sign up early, its for a great cause!

Alzheimer's is a serious disease. Western medicine has and will find better ways to treat it. I would bet an actual cure will and can be found in the natural world; possibly a combination of exercise, diet, and herbs. My gradfather had dimensia which made it hard to be around him at times but it did not kill him. Western Medicine failed him.

On a lighter note, thanks for stopping by my blog. It may be a while before YouMe is running, but I will try to remember to let you know. I appreciate some interest in this project

I like to support great causes and bringing awareness to the world's problems... But sometimes I feel paralyzed in regards to what I can do. I don't believe giving money to pharmacuetical companies will bring about a cure for any of these causes. I wonder if there is way to support research that does not use only chemicals as a treatment, but instead researches lifestyle changes and natural remedies.
